Christmas and The Grinch Are Both Still Alive

December 1, 2010

Things have changed since I was a little boy. We celebrated Christmas in a much larger way. We sang Christmas carols and decorated the class Christmas tree while we were supposed to be learning. Well we learned anyway. We learned that we should give to others, respect others and not always be thinking of ourselves all the time.

Then came along the Grinch who tried to steal Christmas.  The Grinch, now represented by all the anti-religion, anti-god people who are offended by the very words, Merry Christmas. And this group is still alive.

The Grinch Group try as they may to keep Christmas from coming, but year after year, despite their efforts, Christmas is still alive. So here is is my Christmas Poem about the Grinch. I hope you like it.

We heard Christmas Carols here,
we saw Christmas trees there,
we saw Christmas everywhere.

Then the Grinch came with a snear,
to take away our Christmas cheer.
He took away our right to sing,
he took away our Christmas bling.

Why the Grinch even took away Christmas plays,
and gave us ‘winter vacation days.’

He took away School Christmas Plays here,
He took away the court manger scene there,
The Grinch took away Christmas everywhere.

The Grinch tried to kill the Christmas Spirit,
Yet people of faith still found a way to endear it.

Late on Christmas Eve, you can hear them sing,
They sing in churches with steepels
They sing to all kinds of peoples
They give Christmas gifts to family and friends
The amount of Christmas giving has no end

Yes, Christmas is still alive and well,
Next time you see him,
tell the Grinch to go to heck

Christians should stand up and say ‘Merry Christmas’ without fear. It’s your holiday too. Stand up and be counted as a Christian celebrating Christmas. Christians are not condemning any other religion. Christians need to make sure that ‘we the people’ know just how many Christians there are in America.

Say Merry Christmas to everyone you meet. You might save Christmas for someone.
